AMKmotion connects automation worlds

AMKmotion connects automation worlds: whether centralised or decentralised – it makes no difference.

At this year’s sps smart production solutions, AMKmotion celebrates a special premiere: formerly entitled AMK Arnold Müller GmbH & Co. KG, the company now presents itself for the first time as a member of the ARBURG family under its new name AMKmotion GmbH + Co KG. In the middle of the pandemic, ARBURG shareholders Juliane Hehl, Michael Hehl and Renate Keinath took over the automation specialist based in Kirchheim unter Teck. As such, there were limited opportunities to publicise the new name and image, so the sense of anticipation ahead of the sps in Nuremberg was all the greater.

A lot has been going on in Kirchheim unter Teck in recent months:

Full of anticipation for the trade fair, the team of experts developed a demonstrator to familiarise trade fair visitors with the diversity of the AMKmotion product world and the company’s philosophy – its orientation towards users and applications in the realisation of automation solutions. Highly efficient components have a key role to play in this, and the Swabians have come up with some product innovations. For example, there is a new generation of decentralised inverters – also in a structural unit with the servo motor. In addition, the new hybrid distributor intelligently enables the interface from the central drive system to the decentralised drive environment.

This merging of automation worlds can be seen clearly in the modular trade fair demonstrator: here, centralised, decentralised and hybrid drive technology come together to form an automation solution with a generic control system that transfers bottles from one station to another in perfect synchronisation. This provides an individual example of the types of application that exist in mechanical engineering and plant engineering. The example application is also intended to show how automation can function independently of manufacturers and fieldbuses. sps: Hall 4, Stand 210
